A very Doria Christmas
Turns out it’s much more than idle gossip, with official confirmation that they’ll be taking baby Archie to celebrate Christmas with his granny. POSSIBLY in the US. Or maybe somewhere else!
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month,” Buckingham Palace said in their just-released statement, People magazine reports.
“Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland. This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
It’s clear that the palace is keen to knock any speculation about a rift between Harry, Meghan and the Queen on the head, and really who can blame them?
SO much was read into the fact that a portrait of Harry and Meg had disappeared from a reception room at the palace. The theory was that the Queen had banished it after the couple’s emotional South Africa documentary. But that seems to draw rather a longbow, as far as we’re concerned.
Perhaps the Queen simply rotates the photos she highlights, to be sure everyone gets their moment to shine?
To the US … or beyond!
Now back to Christmas. Young Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor MIGHT just take his SECOND trip to the States.
It was revealed earlier this week that Archie secretly flew to New York with Meghan back in September, where the Duchess watched her bestie Serena Williams compete in the US Open.
According to Hello! Magazine, Serena told Access Hollywood that Meghan “flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn’t have done that.”
To be honest we don’t know where Meghan, Harry, Archie and granny Doria will see out the festive season. (But of course, we do know that Doria is based in LA.) Perhaps they’ll head back to the US, or they might take a holiday somewhere warm together instead.
Stay tuned for further updates!
