Goodbye Cambodia! 'Twas a life-changer!

“I’ve only ever been a mom!”

Kate (who had her first baby at 24) admits it feels like she’s been a mother her entire adult life, and reveals she is not keen to stop having babies any time soon.

“I’ve only ever been a mom! I never had an adult life without kids,” Kate told The Times. “My friends had their whole twenties — they’re all just getting pregnant now. But everything I’ve experienced has been great, albeit not conventional, including my childhood.”

Danny and Kate have been Facebook official for a little over a year, but have known each other for close to a decade. (Fujikawa’s stepsisters are two of Hudson’s best friends.)

Kate says they’re yet to make a firm plan for the children she hopes to have, but says a little girl would be a total treat.

“I’d like to [have more kids]! I’m not done yet. A girl would be fun. We’ll see. We’ll see how many Danny wants.”

It’s in the genes

Kate’s sons, 14-year-old Ryder (whose dad is The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson) and six-year-old Bingham (whose father is Muse frontman Matt Bellamy), are apparently showing signs of following in their performing family’s footsteps. Kate puts it down to excellent theatrical and musical genes.

“I definitely believe it’s in the DNA. It’s just what you know, it’s in your gut and you just pursue it.”

“[Ryder is] a great mimic. I wouldn’t be surprised — I’d be a little concerned, but in a good way — if he went into stand-up. And Bing is abnormally musical. He’s been drumming since he was a year and a half.”

The right to bear arms

Mum-of-two Kate recently raised eyebrows at an Australian speaking event last month, when she revealed her views on gun control in the wake of the Parkland high school shooting. Kate says she supports the right to bear arms, putting this down to her unconventional upbringing.

“I’m a great believer in upholding the constitution. I believe in upholding our second constitution amendment,” Kate told attendees of the Business Chicks event. (The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms.)

“My dad Kurt is a libertarian and mom is quite liberal, so I grew up with very different political views for an American household, which is actually kind of rare,” she commented.

Over the weekend, Kate posted in support of the March For Our Lives, a response to the Parkland — and all other senseless — shootings. It seems her views on this manner are complex indeed.
