When Jazmyne Futrell posted a photo of herself deep in the motherhood trenches, she probably knew that the scene was mirrored in homes across the globe, perhaps with varying amounts of children.

Friends with no kids: “you go to bed at 9pm? Girl I can’t fall asleep before 11pm.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀•⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀•⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Mom…

It’s. A. Lot

The image shows US-based Jazmyne standing over the stove, stirring a pot while she breastfeeds her seven-month-old baby boy Koehn. Her eldest child Karson – aged seven-and-a-half – tugs on her shirt while she looks at the homework he’s showing her.

Also pictured are three-year-old son Karter and five-year-old daughter Kinley, sitting on the kitchen floor amidst all the activity, playing a game.

Jazmyne told Yahoo Lifestyle that “there’s not enough realness on social media,” adding, “I shouldn’t be cooking while holding my baby.”

“I had postpartum depression and all the other moms looked amazing on social media,” she told Yahoo. “Many times I thought, ‘Can I do this?’ I hope showing photos like this lets mothers know they’re not fighting their battles alone.”

The whole scene looks busy, noisy and exhausting … and super real! Jazmyne then opened up discussion about grown-up bedtimes in the caption of her photo.

“Friends with no kids: ‘You go to bed at 9pm? Girl I can’t fall asleep before 11pm’. ”

“Mom friends: ‘You go to bed at 9am? Girl I can’t seem to stay up past 8:30.’”

“With four kids I’m way too exhausted to even think about having a life after dark and way [too] busy to go to bed at a decent hour,” this busy multi-tasking mama admitted. “What’s your bedtime? Do you have a night life or are you in the bed before the sun.”

Let the weekend begin ?⁣ ⁣ I pray you momma’s sleep in (which in my household means getting up at 6:53am instead of 6:30, but hey, I’ll take what I can get) ⁣ ⁣ Any plans for today? ⁣ ⁣ We will be looking for a new washer and dryer set.? Please tell me I’m not the only momma who gets this excited about new appliances.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #blackmom #blogmas #blackbloggers #momcommunity #momblogger #momlifebelike #millenialmom #motherhoodunplugged #motherhoodunfiltered #millenialparenting #blackfamily #blackfamilyblog #herlife #parentinghumor #momtruth #mixedmom #mixedmombrownbabies #blackmommyblogger⁣ #wivesandmothers #beautifulblackbabies #momthings #momaf #thatmomlife #momstruggles #momlifeishard #realmotherhood #honestmom #mymotherhood #messy_motherhood

This was how I slept for most of the night, last night. On the ground next to Koehn. ⁣ ⁣ Teething is hitting him hard, which means it’s hitting me even harder. ⁣ ⁣ This is the part of motherhood they don’t show. The part about long nights filled with a screaming baby who only wants to sleep but can’t from the discomfort he’s having. ⁣ ⁣ The moment when you’re crying even harder then he is because you can’t help him. The helplessness you feel as you lay near and sing as loud as you can hoping that will bring him some comfort. ⁣ ⁣ The guilt you feel for taking him with you out of town, even though you had no idea he’d randomly start teething. But still, you’re his mom, you should of known. He needs to be home, where’s he’s comfortable. ⁣ ⁣ The momshame you have to talk yourself out of because honestly you’re not a bad mom, no matter how bad you feel in that moment. ⁣ ⁣ This is the part of motherhood you won’t see. This is the part I want to show. ⁣ ⁣ Mommas, keep going. You got this girl! We got this! It takes a village ?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #crankybaby #teethingsucks #sleepingonthefloor #longnightwithbaby #travelingwithbaby #momshame #momguilt #mommyhoodunplugged #mommyhoodunfiltered #motherhoodunplugged #momaf #honestmom #momaf #mixedmombrownbabies #mixedmom #momcommunity #ittakesavillage

Oh my gosh, same same!!

Other parents were quick to weigh in, noting that they felt her pain, but also that they were trying to remember that the days – and nights – are long, but the years are short.

“I only have 2,” one mum commented, “and I would love to go to bed at a decent time but once they are in bed its time to get housework done. I’m lucky to be in bed by 1am.”

“4 kids and a husband that works crazy hours so I can stay home,” another wrote. “It will pass and we will mourn it. Love on your babies.”

“This is an absolutely beautiful, real picture of what mommyhood is all about,” someone else posted, “and props to your hubby for capturing it.”

“This picture is amazing! It is motherhood and you are beautiful,” another fan declared.

Some noted that Jazmyne’s situation looked pretty amazing from this side of the screen.

“Damn girl! Your floor is cleaner than mine with three kids and a dog!”

#TRUTH!
