Mila Kunis shares the terrible impact fake pregnancy stories have on her family
While you might think that celebrities take tabloid stories with a grain of salt, Mila Kunis just revealed that processing their fake stories is not as simple as shaking it off.
“Oh boy, okay!”
Granted, Mila says she’s sometimes mildly entertained by the headlines and cover stories featuring her own good self, if she happens to see them in passing.
“I don’t read anything about myself. I genuinely don’t know what’s written about me … other than I know that I’m pregnant about once a year and my husband and I are getting a divorce once a year,” Kunis told Cosmopolitan.
“I know this because I go down the grocery store aisle, and I see it on the cover of magazines and I’m like, ‘Oh boy, okay!’”

“My parents and my grandparents sometimes get confused”
That said she doesn’t bother to dig any deeper into their piffle. The same can’t be said for some members of her family though, Mila reveals.
“The only thing that’s upsetting is my parents and my grandparents sometimes get confused … At one point when I was pregnant, [the tabloids] said that I had an emergency and was rushed to the hospital, and my face was on the cover,” Mila told Cosmo.
“The amount of stress that caused my family, nobody will understand. Although my dad is always very hopeful that the pregnancies are true. He’s always like, ‘Is there really another?’”
Tabloid trash
Stories that seem outlandish to us, and obviously simply designed to sell magazines really do have the power to hurt people who have not signed up for a high profile life. And even those who have signed up – like Mila – don’t deserve to be written about in terms of precious, private things like fertility, pregnancy and baby loss.
Imagine being pregnant and having a national magazine publish a story saying you were in the process of losing your child?! It’s horrendous.
Mila is married to Ashton Kutcher, the pair meeting on the set of That 70’s Show in 2012 and marrying in 2015. They have two children together, a three-year-old daughter named Wyatt and a one-year-old son named Dimitri. The pair keep their kiddos well away from the prying eyes of the media, but that doesn’t stop them being dragged into tabloid stories anyway. #Sigh
