Kylie Jenner’s young mum experience – “My life didn’t start until I had her”
Kylie Jenner was 20-years-old when she gave birth to her daughter Stormi in April last year. The semi-surprise birth came after she’d spent months concealing her pregnancy and it’s fair to say that what started off as a private experience has now become much more public.
“I always knew I was ready”
Kylie loves sharing glimpses of life with her baby girl and has just chatted to Interview magazine sharing some more details of their life together.
The mum-of-one says that having a baby has defined her in ways that she may not have anticipated and that she could not love being a mother any more.
“I always knew I wanted to be a young mother,” Kylie told Interview.
“I remember people used to ask, ‘are you ready for this?’ And I always knew I was ready but you don’t know what that love and that feeling is like until after you have a child.”

“My life didn’t start until I had her”
Becoming a mum has offered a fresh perspective and a recalibration of her priorities, Kylie says.
“She really comes before me so that is a lot to take in at a young age but I feel like I was definitely made for this and she has changed my life for the better. The way that I look at things is a lot more positive and I really feel like my life didn’t start until I had her.”
With chatter swirling about her relationship with Stormi’s father Travis Scott, Kylie revealed that growing her family is not on the radar right now.
“I do want more kids but I do not have any plans in the near future to have children right now,” she said firmly.
Self-made mama
While we caught blurry glimpses of Stormi in last season’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians episodes, Kylie is not keen to put her front and centre in the show.
“I am going to wait until she is old enough to make that decision for herself,” she told Interview which honestly seems like a brilliant approach to mini media exposure.
Kylie was recently named the youngest ever self-made billionaire by Forbes magazine, sparking debate (again!) about whether she really deserves the title. She says that while she’s a unique case, she clearly does.
“There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth,” she explained.
“That is the category that I fall under. Although, I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans. I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100% of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited… and I am very proud of that.”
You can’t be it unless you see it
Kylie hopes that her example of juggling parenthood with career and happiness will set an example to other young women.
“I hope people will remember that I pushed boundaries, inspired them, worked incredibly hard, set trends, and made history with my business – all at a young age,” Kylie said.
“I hope to inspire other young women to know that there are no limits and to work hard for what you believe in.”
