A bride wore her baby down the aisle – and it’s as sweet as it sounds
When Ohio photographer Laura Schaefer’s friend asked her to photograph her wedding, she probably had no idea of the unique pictures she’d capture – or that they’d go viral across the globe.
Here comes the … baby!
Her buddy Dalton Mort is the bride in question, and some logistics and a uniquely inclusive philosophy made her wedding – to childhood sweetheart Jimmy Joe – super special.
Dalton decided to wear her almost two-year-old daughter Ellora down the aisle, and the images Laura shared of their big day are heartwarming and unusual.
Huffpost reports that Dalton “knew the ceremony, which involved a full Roman Catholic Mass, would be long. And it would take place during her daughter’s naptime.”
More than anything Dalton wanted Ellora to be happy, calm and feel included in the ceremony. She also hoped her toddler could be part of the vows. Somehow the stars aligned and it all played out pretty perfectly!

“A part of our relationship”
Dalton’s mum – who had carried her own babies when Dalton was little – helped her wrap granddaughter Ellora over the wedding gown. Dalton then walked down the aisle with her toddler on her back, the rainbow wrap matching the ribbons on her bouquet and the flowers in her hair.
“When we said our vows, I was holding her in my arms, which was great,” Dalton revealed.
“She ended up falling asleep during the ceremony,” she said, via Buzzfeed News. “I wanted her to be there for everything because she’s just as much a part of our relationship.”
“Just beautiful”
Since she shared the shots, Laura’s business Fire and Gold Photography has been inundated with media attention and enquires about the photo series – and we hope these translate into bookings. People cannot stop commenting on the shots she shared on Instagram either.
“So cool! Dalton deserves to go viral and so do your beautiful pictures!!” one follower posted.
“Not only are the photos and bride gorgeous … but what a beautiful way to include her daughter,” someone else wrote. “This is just beautiful on so many levels! Best wishes to the beautiful family.”
“So darn sweet to make her such a big part of their wedding day,” another fan wrote and we could not agree more!
SO darn sweet!
