Hurrah! The Baby Mop onesie exists, so you can put your bub to work ASAP

Posted in Beauty and Fashion.

Sometimes the internet delivers brilliant news for exhausted mums and dads, and this is one of those occasions.

“But what can it do?”

The Baby Mop is here to awaken parents to the possibilities of infant domestic servitude – and its fans say there’s nothing exploitative about it at all.

“After the birth of a child there’s always the temptation to say, ‘Yes, it’s cute, but what can it do?'” one tongue-in-cheek reviewer of the Baby Mop points out. “Until recently the answer was simply ‘lie there and cry’, but now babies can be put on the payroll, so to speak, almost as soon as they’re born.”

Praise be!

Unusual product expert Kenji Kawakam provides some clear instructions on teaching your baby to mop the floor and honestly, it really does sound quite easy.

“Just dress your young one in Baby Mops and set him or her down on any hard wood or tile floor that needs cleaning. You may at first need to get things started by calling to the infant from across the room, but pretty soon they’ll be doing it all by themselves.”

Seems simple enough!

Not everybody likes the Baby Mop though, with one particularly cross person leaving the following scathing – and mildly sexist – review:

“I think this is a disgusting product. What kind of mum leaves a dusty floor for a baby to crawl around on? And then to add insult to injury, the dust is attached to the baby so it can breathe in all the dust … nice.”

Dads care for babies too, angry person, FYI. (But they do have a point re: the dust … but it’s a JOKE everybody so don’t worry!!)

The Baby Mop is available on Amazon, and while it doesn’t seem to ship to Australia, you can use Australia Post’s ShopMate service to snaffle a US shipping address and have it sent on to you (with ShopMate’s help!)
