Justin Timberlake ‘dad shamed’ after posting a picture of his son on Instagram
When Justin Timberlake posted a photo of his wife Jessica Biel kissing their preschool-aged son Silas, the trolls rubbed their hands together and unleashed their usual garbage.
City of love?
Musician Justin Timberlake and actor Jessica Biel are parents to three-year-old Silas Randall, born in 2015. The trio are currently in Paris, spending some time doing touristy things and lapping up the European summer. (As you do!)
“If that pic doesn’t say ‘City Of Love’ then I’m out …” Justin captioned a lovely photo of Jess snuggling with Silas. Sadly, it seems that the picture said all kinds of other nasty things to some choice types. They didn’t see the love in it at all.
It’s hard to imagine what kind of people hide behind their keyboards and tap in mean comments about a three-year-old child, but our guess is that at the very least it’s the bored sort?
“Why Hollywood boys are f up. Grow the hell up and be parents,” charming commenter true_me_143 posted.
“Please don’t kiss your kids on the lips. It’s disgusting and not safe,” a misinformed mari7696 commented.
“Is this a girl?” a quite unwise person with username makeworldwiser posted.
“Sorry, I don’t like when little boys have long hair, and they are too small to decide if they love long hair or not,”concern-trolling maja_dia wrote. “And it’s like they wanted a girl but when they got a boy they make it look like a girl.”

The Timberlake curls!
But many other people scrolled by, after leaving a comment pointing out how lovely the photo was, or how beautiful Silas’ hair is or how much they wished they were in Paris too. Others still had sage advice for the trolls:
“A lot of people here need to drink a full mug of mind your own f*cking business,” Instagrammer jimmiller1968 summed up.
“Oh, the Timberlake curls. I hope my son has curly hair like his Daddy too!!!” lexanne5 gushed.
“I get why you don’t post pics of your son very often,” follower curlygirljojo posted. “People are opinionated and harmful with their opinions and words. You have a beautiful family. You just keep on doing you.”
It’s not the first time people have had opinions when it comes to this couple’s parenting skills. Some threatened to call Social Services on Jess and Justin when they revealed they dared to talk to their son about the human body using anatomically accurate names for body parts. OMG. #GoAwayTrolls
While it’s really regrettable that people directed their venom and judge-y opinions at a wee little boy, it was also an opportunity for many others to point out that hair length does not determine gender. And that wearing a snazzy-printed matching shirt and shorts doesn’t tick any particular gender boxes either! Small mercies indeed.
