Mum’s method for choosing baby name might make you rethink your current list
Trying to come up with a name for your little bundle of joy can be a seriously hard task. So often we veto names because they remind us of someone we don’t like, but what about choosing names of people you know and do like?
The loveliest people you know
A mum has taken to Mumsnet to ask fellow users the names of “most lovely people you know”.
“What are the names of the most lovely people you know? Traits could be kind, generous, likeable … but I want to know what these wonderful people are called,” she wrote, while also sharing some of her own.
“The ones that stick out to me: Heather, Ron, Claudette, Ingrid, Jim.”
While it’s obviously a very personal association (one person’s lovely is another person’s loathsome), it’s also a fresh perspective on deciding on a baby name and we’re here for it.
Here are some of the names people shared:

It’s interesting to note that so many of the boy’s names offered were popular in the 1950s, leading us to theorise that when other mums think of someone especially lovely, they automatically think of their dads. Very sweet.
