Look. We have to admit we were very keen to catch that first glimpse of baby Sussex in March, but the Duchess herself has confirmed that is not gonna happen!

Six months pregnant

Yup. While her brilliant baby bump and her “nearly there” comment had many – including this writer – figuring she was due sooner rather than later, Meghan just let slip that later is actually the case.

Meg and Prince Harry were visiting the English town of Birkenhead on Monday, when she spilled the pregnancy progress beans.

Royal watcher Carla Gandy and her four-year-old daughter Sofia were amongst the assembled crowd and they got to chat to Meghan during the couple’s walkabout.

“We asked her how her pregnancy was going and she said she was six months and she tapped her tummy,” Carla told People magazine.

Due in late April

Megan apparently “told others gathered in Hamilton Square that she’s due in late April,” People reports.

Mum Rebecca Blundell was there with her girls two-year-old Lottie and six-year-old Lily. Apparently Harry asked the family how they spelled Lily’s name and then “Meghan came up straight after and said that he’s going to be a fantastic dad,” Rebecca says.

“She said her pregnancy had gone so quickly,” another mum revealed of her own chat with Meghan. “I asked her how she was coping on those high heels. She said, ‘One day at a time!'”

“We are keeping it a surprise”

Seven-year-old Megan Dudley spoke with the Duchess about their shared nickname ‘Meg”.

“I asked her whether she would call her baby Amy if she has a girl,” young Megan said, People reports. “She said, ‘That’s a really pretty name, I like it. We’ll have to think about it.’ ”

Nine-year-old Kitty Dudley also had a revealing Duchess encounter.

“Meghan came up to me and asked me how old I was and where I went to school,” Kitty told People. “I could see her bump and I asked if she was having a boy or a girl and she said, ‘We don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl, we are keeping it as a surprise.’ ”
