Any day now: Duchess Kate’s headed back to London from her mum and dad’s home

Posted in Stages of Pregnancy.

There’s more movement in royal baby birthing circles, as Duchess Kate has headed back to London from her parent’s home, ahead of the birth of baby number three.

Any day now

Kate had been resting up away from the spotlight, spending the last couple of weeks at her parents’ home in Bucklebury and at Sandringham, but she’s just returned to London as her baby’s birth day draws nearer.

Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte spent Easter with Kate’s mum and dad, Carole and Michael, presumably getting in some much needed R&R before life gets even more busy.

With the Duchess on the cusp of her due date, the holiday is over. The family is now firmly ensconced back in London, close to St Mary’s Hospital, where Kate is due to give birth (any second now!).

George is back at school and Charlotte has slotted into her nursery school routine. Prince William is attending to usual official engagements, but – one would presume – is poised to spring into action at the first sign of labour.

All systems go

It’s safe to say that all the royal ducks are now officially in a row – and this soon-to-be family of five are more than ready for their new addition:

  • The barriers have gone up at St Mary’s outside the Lindo Wing, with a fresh lick of paint being applied to the fences in readiness.
  • William is apparently mildly “in denial” but has been around the block a couple of times and is more than ready to be a dad-of-three.
  • Kate’s rested and on maternity leave, as ready as she can be for the impending birth.
  • Kate’s birth squad is on standby, with nanny, medics and glam squad primed to do what they do best.
  • The world’s media are on tenterhooks, ready to assemble and switch that famous Lindo Wing door cam on once they get the word that Kate’s labour has commenced.

Watch this space, royal fans. This baby is nearly here!
