Lots of things happen to your amazing body as it grows a brand new life. As well as all the usual pregnancy niggles, you may notice your hair is suddenly lush and thick but your skin is, well, a bit all over the place.

4. Stretch and tiger marks

Unpreventable (despite what the products claim) stretch marks are streaky, red, pink, purple or brown skin markings that develop as your skin expands rapidly. About 80 per cent of pregnant women get them. While keeping hydrated and using moisturiser on your bump and breasts may help to minimise their appearance, rest assured that stretch marks often fade a lot after birth.
