Labour, regardless of how painful it is, will be an experience you will most likely remember for the rest of your life. Labour is also a marathon (unless you are one of those unicorn women who birth babies in record time with barely a contraction) so it pays to have some minor entertainments up your sleeve for when you need some distraction.
Sure, once you get to the pointy end of labour, there’s no time for fun and games – and anyone who suggests otherwise needs a bop on the nose – but here are a couple of fun ideas you can use in those early hours (not days!) of labour to keep your mind off the long road ahead.
2. Make bribery bags
Make lolly bags to hand out as you arrive at the hospital with a note apologising in advance. Hand them out to all staff. Expect the best room in the ward.
