New picture book champions strong female protagonist

Simi Genzuik ran away to the circus and found her people. Among those people was her future husband, and together they had a daughter. But when Simi went looking for picture books with fierce female leads, they were few and far between. So she wrote her own book.

So she did is a picture book about May Wirth. May Wirth became a famous trick horse rider in the early 1900s.

Simi speaks of her own love of the circus, and the incredible life of May Wirth.
