How to deal with pester power

When a child gets something into their head (like the fact that they want a lolly) they can be really persistent. Their ability to pester a parent into submission would be admired by any hard-bitten negotiator.

Derek McCormack, Principal Specialist at Raising Children Network, says there are some strategies that parents can employ to prevent the initial onslaught.
