Sue Brierley chose a path that not many people choose. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to adopt children, even though she could have her own. Sue is the mother who raised Saroo – the man who’s story, Lion became an international bestseller and then became a movie.

From the very beginning, Sue wondered about Saroo’s ‘other’ mother. Did she know he was still alive? So when Saroo went to search for his biological family, Sue became part of the journey as well. Sue’s memoir Lioness talks about her own family history, of parents who fled from the horrors of WWII, attempts (and failures) to make a happy life in Australia, and Sue’s own incredible decision to live life on her own terms.

Sue talks about her childhood and an incredible vision she had when she was still a child.
