From earthquakes to divorce: One mum’s take on managing big moments
Hannah Davison writes picture books called My Big Moments to help parents guide their children through the tougher times in life. Her own life has given her plenty of experience with this practice. In 2016 she was with her young family on the second story of an old farmhouse in New Zealand when the 7.8 magnitude Kaikoura earthquake struck. After the quake the family had to move several times and manage their children’s feelings about the earthquake and moving. Then, during the COVID pandemic, she and her partner divorced.
Hannah talks about how we can help children manage big moments, and how much they can teach us too.
