There’s nothing quite as satisfying as watching a child eat with a healthy appetite. The reverse is also true. When a child is fussy, you can hover over them at the dinner table, hoping against hope that they will eat something you have cooked.

Dr Jen Cohen is a nutritionist at University of NSW who specialises in diets for children who are undergoing cancer treatment and fussy eaters. Jen has helped many parents understand the behaviour behind fussy eating.

In this interview, Jen explains why a child can be fussy, what you can do to try and prevent it, and if that doesn’t work how to manage a picky eater.
