Khloé Kardashian and toddler True navigate Tristan’s birthday post-split
Khloé Kardashian is officially a single mum after her tumultuous relationship with Tristan Thompson ended a couple of weeks ago.
Happy birthday?
Many thought this break-up had been a long time coming, but it’s clear that Khloé was understandably desperate to keep her family together and needed to reach her own personal point of no-return before she walked away. Tristan gave her that when he hooked-up with Khloé and Kylie Jenner’s very close friend Jordyn Woods.
This week, Tristan had a birthday and Khloé and True apparently navigated his special day without sighting the pro-basketball player at all.
It’s a huge shift from the usual Kardashian birthday celebrations. The family traditionally bust out the balloons, blooms and giant parties. Tristan appears to have disconnected from the family and there are now reports that he’s dealing with the break-up by avoiding his daughter and ex-partner.

“Wish you were here”
US Weekly reports that Khloé is “extremely upset” with Thompson “because he isn’t really making any effort to be involved in their daughter True’s life.”
This appeared to be confirmed yesterday when Khloé shared an Instagram story showing the couple’s 11-month-old baby girl wearing an embroidered t-shirt that read “wish you were here”.
Last week Khloé admitted she’d been understandably all over the place since the Tristan/Jordyn tryst was revealed. Khloé had initially addressed Jordyn directly, tagging her on Twitter – in the wake of the younger woman’s ‘tell-all’ on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table show – accusing her of causing her family’s split.
“Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!”
“Tristan is equally to blame but Tristan is the father of my child. Regardless of what he does to me I won’t do that to my daughter. He has been addressing this situation PRIVATELY. If Tristan were to lie publicly about what conspired, then yes I would address him publicly as well.”
“Jordyn is not to be blamed”
But she quickly clarified her comments, confirming her relationship breakdown was not Jordyn’s fault.
“This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have. Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time,” Khloe posted on Twitter on March 2
“What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.”

True’s first birthday is just around the corner, and Khloé is most definitely wondering how she’ll include Tristan without sparkling further tension and conflict. It’s a situation almost all separated parents will be familiar with.
Speaking of conflict, it’s certainly playing out in the comments of Tristan’s team – the Cleveland Cavaliers – Instagram comments. When the Cavs posted a birthday message to their account, Khloé fans swept in and used it as an opportunity to remind him of what he’s missing out on. Tristan has turned off comments on his own Insta, so they jumped at the chance to defend Khloé and give him a good telling off.
“For your birthday I hope you step on LEGO’s for every birthday the rest of your life,” one angry Instagrammer wrote.
“Ew this dude doesn’t deserve to have a happy day. He gets the day he deserves ???” another wrote.
“I didn’t know you could have your cake and eat it too, before your birthday,” someone else posted wryly. “He must’ve been celebrating early.”
