A 10-year-old girl who won a school project competition and her sister, were lucky enough to not only meet Queen Elizabeth II in person, but to also get the inside story on Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Chats with the Queen

Young Emily Clay was the excellent swot who won a bible signed by the Queen, after turning in an excellent religious education project at school.

Emily’s six-year-old sister Hadleigh, and her parents accompanied her to Sandringham Palace on the weekend, to claim her prize and actually meet the monarch. Gasp! It was during this exciting visit that the family learned a little bit more about how the royal siblings relate.

Emily’s mum, Ellen, said the Queen asked Emily about her project first. The monarch then engaged younger sister Hadleigh in conversation, asking if she liked school. Warming to these clever and chatty girls, she delved a little deeper, finally speaking to their mum.

“She asked if Emily looked after Hadleigh, and I said it was more the other way round,” Ellen explained

“She said it was like that with Princess Charlotte and Prince George.”

Incoming big sister

The Queen’s cute reveal about her grandchildren is further proof that two-year-old Princess Charlotte is growing up fast. It comes just a few days after the littlest princess embarked on her very first week at nursery school.

Charlotte is now attending The Willcocks Nursery School, described as “a traditional nursery school which strives to maintain its ethos for high standards, excellence and good manners.”

Willcocks is very close to Kensington Palace, where George and Charlotte live with their mum and dad, Prince William and Duchess Kate. Young Prince George is a little further afield at Thomas’s Battersea.

“Very chatty”

It’s previously been revealed that young Charlotte is very social. During a visit to the Natural History Museum last year, Kate told other parents that “Charlotte is very chatty and likes doing playdates with George.”

Charlotte’s caring sibling skills will be getting even more of a workout in April, when her parents welcome their third child.

It’s unclear what Prince George thinks of having a new baby in the house, but we think Charlotte will be very keen to establish her position as very excellent Big Sister for the first time. Super CUTE.
