Ultrasound nail art is the hot new thing, so your fingers can be pregnant too!
How did nobody think of this before?! Mums-to-be and nail fanciers of all types can now take the miracle of pregnancy … to their hands!
Pregnant paws
Yup. Your ultrasound scan can be reimagined on your digits, so if your hands didn’t already feel totally pregnant, this new trend can seal the deal!
UK nail artist Sarah Clarke crafts these brilliant baby scan acrylics, realising she was onto something after completing client Stacey Donaldson’s nails.
Sarah told PRETTY52 that it’s a delicate and manual process, with each nail painstakingly hand-painted to achieve the look.
“I created that nail with firstly applying the acrylic nail and painted the picture by copying her scan picture using paint and a fine brush,” Sarah explained.

Sarah painted her expectant client’s nails this way back in April, and other nail artists sat up and took note.
Fresh interpretations of Sarah’s idea are now popping up on Instagram, and we predict a total rush on this because … kind of amazing!

Celebrating little lives
Sarah says mums are having their ultrasounds painted on their nails to celebrate their babies – and to memorialise them too.
“It has proven to be very popular with existing clients and people from all over requesting it also. I have now got quite a few people booked in for these, including a few people who have lost their babies.”
The enterprising Sarah now offers this service to remote customers too, inviting them to send in an image of their scan so she can create an acrylic nail for far-flung clients’ nail technicians to apply.
