Miranda Kerr spills the beans on second pregnancy and her “hormonal headaches”
Newlyweds, Miranda Kerr and Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel, are expecting their first child together, a second for the model-mum. She revealed her son Flynn is having some big feelings about their growing family.
Excitement plus
“We’re just really excited to expand our family,” Miranda told US Weekly on Sunday, noting that her son with ex-husband Orlando Bloom, six-year-old Flynn, is very much looking forward to big brother status.
“Oh, he’s very excited,” she said. “It’s so sweet.”
Miranda said this pregnancy is throwing some unfamiliar and quite unexpectedly painful curveballs.
“I have been getting hormonal headaches, which I never got with Flynn,” she told US Weekly.
“Apparently, my doctor said [with] the second pregnancy, your hormones kind of kick in a little stronger because they’re like, ‘Oh, yeah. I know what’s happening. I know what to do.’ So that’s probably why.”
These kinds of headaches are common in pregnancy and while Miranda’s are apparently hormone-related, other factors like blood sugar, increased blood volume, caffeine withdrawal, lack of sleep, dehydration and stress also trigger this kind of pesky pain.
The waiting game
Miranda and Evan were married at their home in Brentwood Los Angeles on May 27. The pair had apparently been waiting to start trying for a baby until the rings were on their fingers.
“I’m not planning for a child yet. Not until after we get married. My partner is very traditional. We can’t … I mean we’re just … waiting,” she told The Times earlier this year.
Once married, the couple launched head on into bonding their family unit – and adding to it. They announced Miranda’s pregnancy early last month:
“Miranda, Evan, and Flynn are looking forward to welcoming the newest member of their family.”
Miranda says they’re now finding ways to carve out time together, amidst their busy and baby-growing lives.
“I include both Flynn and Evan when we do yoga,” Kerr said.
“Sometimes, if Evan is away or in the afternoon after school, Flynn and I will do Mommy and Me yoga … That’s really healing for all of us.”
Downward dogs all ’round!
