Fourth time’s a charm
Lindy, who is already mum to 11-year-old Stella, 9-year-old Rocco and 6-year-old Frankie with ex-husband, former Olympic swimmer Michael Klim is expecting her fourth child on Christmas Eve. It’ll be the first baby for her fiancé Adam Ellis.
The pair became engaged in October 2016 and by March, Lindy had a baby on board. She said a ticking biological clock meant they fast-tracked things a little more speedily than she might previously have done.
“I was so done and dusted with three kids,” Lindy told Stellar, “but Adam doesn’t have children so we thought having one together would complete our family. Adam has been so amazing with the kids — we thought it’d be nice to see what a miniature Adam would look like.”
Of criticism that things have been too fast, she told Harper’s Bazaar that she does things her own way, in her own time.
“People would say to me, ‘Oh, you’ve rushed into this—you’ve only been on your own for three months before you’ve met Adam.’ Whatever. I don’t play by the rules, and where are these rules coming from? I’ve never, ever listened to proper rules.”
“It whinges a lot!”
The model-mum (and genuine Balinese princess) said this impending bub is certainly making its presence known.
“It’s clearly an English baby because it whinges a lot,” she revealed. “It moves so much, kicks violently and is really fussy about what I eat. No meat, nothing spicy and I can’t be around alcohol.”
“He likes George and Barnaby,” she laughed. “Barnaby!!!”
Barnaby aside, Lindy says her husband-to-be is refreshingly involved in her pregnancy and curious about their baby’s development.
“It’s nice having a child with someone who is going through it for the first time,” she said. “He’s so interested and caring and wants to know everything about it.”
The pair say they plan to marry next year with a small “styled and completely immaculate” affair.
