It’s being widely reported that the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa, who married James Matthews last year, is pregnant with her first child.

First baby for Pippa and James

The cat has been well and truly – in fact globally – let out of the bag, with Pippa apparently having navigated her 12 week scan with flying colours and excitedly heading into her second trimester.

No word yet as to whether Pippa has dealt with health challenges in her early pregnancy, as Kate did, suffering from debilitating hyperemesis gravidarum. Images popping up on media sites show her apparently heading to the gym, so we’re hoping things have been a little less fraught for this Middleton sister.

The Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth to baby number three any day now, so it’s probable that Pippa might have hoped to keep her own baby news hush hush until her latest niece or nephew arrived. The family are yet to make an official statement confirming Pippa’s pregnancy, but it can’t be far away.

Lady-in-waiting Pippa

Pippa Middleton is Kate’s younger sister, a British socialite and currently-in-hiatus columnist. She’s the author of two books Heartfelt (for the British Heart Foundation) and Celebrate (the much-derided title about throwing a successful party.)

Pippa married hedge fund manager James in May of 2017. Her nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were page boy and flower girl at the wedding, with some of the most adorable pics from the big day involving the little Prince and Princess being told off by their mum.

Married for almost a year now, Pippa will some day become Lady Glen Affric, as James is heir to a 10,000-acre Scottish estate (and castle!) a short distance from Loch Ness.

James’ father acquired the title of the Laird of Glen Affric when be bought the Glen Affric estate in 2008. The title will pass to James when his dad dies, when Pippa will also officially become a Lady.

James is not the only high profile gent in his family. His younger brother Spencer – who is now set to become an uncle later this year – appeared on popular reality show, Made in Chelsea.

Keeping Up With The Windsors

It’s a busy time for the royal family at the moment:

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to marry next month.
  • The Queen just turned 92.
  • Prince Charles has been confirmed as the new head of the Commonwealth, taking over from the Queen immediately.
  • Prince Philip just underwent successful hip replacement surgery.
  • Princess Eugenie is due to marry later this year.
  • And, of course, Kate and William are about to have another baby.

It’s a bit like Keeping Up With The Windsors, really ..!
