Missy Higgins baby bump

Australian singer and mum of one, Missy Higgins has taken to Instagram to share a beautiful picture of her baby bump in all its glory.

Captioning the image, Missy says she is more than ready to meet her little bundle of joy.

“The countdown is on”

“Good lord will you look at this thing? Holy moly,” Missy wrote. “This pregnancy has been hard I’m not gonna lie, but I am excited to meet the little bundle on the other side now… the count down is on!”

“I’d like to tell you guys that I’m expecting”

Earlier this year, Missy toured around Australia as the support act for Ed Sheeran. During her show, she revealed the exciting news to fans that she was pregnant with her second child.

Reminiscing about how she met her husband, playwright and comedian Dan Lee, Missy said her bump had nothing to do with how many doughnuts she’d eaten – and everything to do with being pregnant.

“I was sitting in my good friend’s living room on his futon couch where my soon-to-be husband walked in the room and I was like ‘Hello, who are you?’” she told the audience. “I wanted to write a song that kind of put the day I met Dan into a song so I could play it for our children. And on that note, I’d like to tell you guys that I’m expecting.”

Missy and Dan are already parents to three-year-old Samuel.

Postnatal depression: “I knew it had come”

The singer has been very open talking about her experience with postnatal depression.

“I think when it happened I knew it had come and I knew I had to ride it out,” Missy told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I had a lot of support. My husband was very knowledgeable about what to expect as well so he just supported me through it. My hormones were all over the place – but I think not having so much down time now has been really good for me.”
