“Precious blessing”

Jess and Eric are expecting a baby girl, and they spilt the beans publicly in a series of balloon-filled Instagram posts featuring Jess, Ace and Max.

“Surprise! This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” Jess posted. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

This baby news flies in the face of Jess’s recent public stance on growing her family. She appeared on The Ellen Show last year in a rather scattered interview, explaining that the baby shop had been shut down and she was not keen for more kids.

“I’m not pregnant,” Jess told Ellen.“We got an IUD, nothing’s gonna get in that uterus. I have two beautiful children and I’m not having a third.”

Of course, things change, people change and priorities change. It’s clear that this bunch couldn’t be happier with their big news!

Congratul … nope

What doesn’t change is people on social media’s ability to divert the conversation, not be happy for other people and signal their own virtue. While many were focused on Jess and Eric’s new baby, many more were keen to discuss the use of balloons in their pregnancy reveal.

SURPRISE…

Those people were very upset and felt that the balloons would make their way into waterways and areas where animals lived, ultimately causing them harm.

“A pretty Instagram picture is more important to some people than our environment,” one follower posted.

“Please consider a gender reveal that doesn’t end up littering the ocean with more plastic,” someone else wrote.

“The balloons into the sky ??? They kill animals,” another commenter posted.

“I don’t see the need in using something damaging to the environment for such a short, fleeting moment,” someone else said.

Hmmm. True … but time and place, people! Sheesh.

Huge congrats to Jess, Eric, Maxwell and Ace on their exciting news.
