A rep for John Stamos has confirmed that he and fiancé, model Caitlin McHugh, are expecting a baby, hot-on-the-heels of their recent exciting engagement announcement.
“Happily ever after”
Six weeks after the pair revealed their plans to wed, comes the news that the Full House favourite and his “perfect woman” are due to hear the pitter patter of little feet some time in 2018.
While they haven’t said a lot about the pregnancy, John has chatted quite candidly about Caitlin and his hopes for the future.
“I asked … she said yes! … And we lived happily ever after,” John posted on Instagram in late October, sharing his newly-engaged status. John and Caitlin have been dating since 2016, and John was previously married to Rebecca Romijn for six years, the pair divorcing in 2005.
“The best person I could be”
John said Caitlin inspired him to be a better man; “I’ve always been pretty vocal about wanting a family and wanting to be married, and everyone is like, ‘Why can’t you? You can do it.’”
“The truth is I just wasn’t the best me and I wasn’t going to attract someone like Caitlin,” John told Extra in October.
“I had to work on myself and put in some time, and I know my mother would have been really happy with that, and this beauty just came into my life. It took time for me to really be the best person I could be.”
“The perfect woman”
John admitted the path to coupledom and parenthood had been a long and rambling one, but he’s finally met his match in Caitlin.
“My ovaries are rattling. Do men have ovaries?” he joked in 2015. “They’re jingling. I can hear them jingling now.”
“It’s just taken me a lot longer than I anticipated. It would be a tragedy if I didn’t have children and I finally found the right woman — the perfect woman. I know my parents are smiling down. I know they would love her. She’s a gentle, kind, graceful soul who would be a good mother,” he explained to Entertainment Tonight.
We’re excited to follow their baby journey. Congrats to Caitlin and John!
