Ice Age
You may think a movie that’s full of sabre-toothed tigers, sloths and woolly mammoths is not going to provide much in the way of baby name inspo – but you’d be wrong! Check these little beauties out:
- Manny – A diminutive of Manuel, meaning ‘God is with us’, this is a sweet little name given to the biggest character in the movie.
- Ellie – Now considered a name in its own right, Ellie started life as a diminutive of all El- names – Eleanor, Ella, Elizabeth …
- Diego – Of Spanish origins, Diego is often a shortened form of ‘San Diego’, but its original meaning is ‘supplanter’ or ‘may God protect’.
- Peaches – Historically considered a pet name, Peaches has become a name in its own right in recent years.
- Louis – Of German origin meaning ‘famed warrior’, we love this name no matter how you might choose to pronounce it.
- Shira – A Hebrew name meaning ‘poetry’, surely this lovely name is ripe for a revival?
- Julian – Meaning ‘youthful, downy’, it’s a Latin classic that never seems out of fashion.
