Lightweight and limitless – JIX is the very latest in construction toys

JIX

And you thought Lego was cool, well here comes the next big thing in construction toys – JIX. All you need is a pack of JIX connectors and some standard drinking straws to start creating. You will be amazed at what can be achieved.

My favourite thing about the JIX construction kit is it’s lightweight and portable. No more packing big boxes of building blocks or construction kits into the car for the family holiday. Just throw in a pack of JIX connectors and pick up some straws along the way. So easy!

JIX

The ability of JIX is limited only by imagination (and how many straws you have on hand). To start off, kids might build something simple like a star, cube, or pyramid but before long it’s rockets and forts, even dresses.

JIX

JIX have also been used by big kids to create interactive art spaces that you can crawl through! Now that is a lot of drinking straws. It is this ability to create large, lightweight structures that gives kids endless hours of fun. Of course, while they are busy building, their brains get busy growing because this is a toy that makes the user think laterally and engages their imagination.

JIX

They say the simple things in life are often the best and this fabulous new toy is the perfect example. We at Babyology have followed this daring designer idea since it was just a wee Kickstarter and are so happy it has become a reality. A pack of JIX connectors starts at just US$19 and can be delivered anywhere in the world. For those lucky readers who live in Perth check out local stockist William Topp.

She is often found riding her bike by the Yarra river with baby on back, heading for a good soy latte at the latest kid-friendly cafe. She wants to get there before it becomes cool. So Melbourne.
