Most of us wouldn’t expect a giraffe to be a regular part of our children’s child care day. In Australia, we expect a fairly standard building where the child-friendly fit-out begins inside and in the play yard. Not so this amazing centre in the western suburbs of Paris!
Designed by Hondelatte Laporte Architectese, the impressive building is made all the more so by the huge giraffe built into the front and right through the awning.
I think my two would have been a tad more excited to get ready in the morning if they were greeted by this handsome yellow fellow each day. There’s also a bear in the yard!
This is yet another example of extreme creativity in the design of child care centres. It’s something we rarely see in Australia, with its condensed urban areas and tight planning laws. Do you know of any creatively-built centres near you?
