Model Chrissy Teigen again defends her baby-free dinner out with husband after birth of daughter

Mummy guilt has to be one of the worst feelings. When is the right time to go back to work? The gym? The spa? ‘I need a break, but what will people think?’ More than three weeks have passed since television presenter and model Chrissy Teigen was slammed on social media for going out to dinner nine days after her daughter Luna, with husband singer John Legend, was born and she still feels the need to defend her decision.

In an interview with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America this week Chrissy was asked about being mum-bashed online.

“It was about nine to nine days after (the birth) or something so we needed a break, we needed to go enjoy each others’ company and be out,” she says.

“I used to read mummy blogs like crazy so I knew mummy-shaming was a thing, but I didn’t know it would come from going to dinner.

“We were gone for an hour, we had a good meal together and I think happy mummy, happy daddy, happy baby.”

Chrissy also spoke of her husband’s valiant effort to stop the haters.

“That was really sweet of him because it just kept going on and on, so yeah, he had my back for that one so thank you John.”

John took to Twitter calling on his wife’s critics to throw half the blame at him.

“Funny there’s no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it,” he wrote.

Chrissy is certainly not the first mum to be torn down on social media. In November 2015 we told you about the mum who was harassed online for revealing her unusual co-sleeping method and many mums are shamed for breastfeeding in public.

At Babyology we believe mums are better united than divided, as so beautifully captured in this much-watch video for all parents.
