It’s been a photography project twelve years in the making and the results are absolutely worth the wait! If you are an animal lover, then these stunning photographs of Amelia and her animals will leave you breathless.

Amelia has grown up in front of the camera with some truly remarkable friends and these photographs, taken by her mother, Robin Schwartz, show a beautiful bond between one little girl and some of the world’s most captivating creatures.

Robin first started taking photographs of Amelia in 2002, showing the then three-year-old clowning around with a chimp named Rikky.  Amelia and Rikky met at a circus and couldn’t stop hugging. Their instant connection was caught on camera and the vision for Amelia and the Animals was born.

Twelve years on, Amelia still shines in her mother’s beautiful and whimsical photographs and continues to capture our hearts. Amelia has posed with elephants, llamas, ponies, tigers, kangaroos, chimpanzees, dogs, cats, birds and several other animals.

Robin has released some of the striking photos through Facebook, Instagram and on her website and they are truly sensational. Amelia has always been a natural around animals, both exotic and common, and as Robin writes, shows “enormous fortitude and ingenuity in relating to each individual animal with kindness and respect.” These photos certainly capture this rare connection.
