Phil & Teds is really running with the spage-age theme of their Vibe stroller in its
expansion into new products, which includes the
Phil & Teds Smart Stroller we
wrote about in September. Sticking with mainly red and black – which I love – the thoroughly innovative company has just released
their Peanut bassinette which clips onto the Vibe frame. This brings their stroller line into direct competition with the
top-end brands who offer this desirable extra for newborns.
It makes the Vibe a covetable option for those having their first baby,
who want one stroller to last 2 or more children. The shape is just
gorgeous, cocooning baby in its nut-like shell. Some bassinettes on
the market seem huge for a newborn – I like the snugglier feel of the
Peanut. And being able to see your baby while out and about
is one of the greatest joys of early parenthood – but be warned, it makes getting any shopping done impossible!
Next up are the High Pod highchair, Wriggle Wrapper portable
feeding chair, and the upgrade to the Me Too – the Lobster – whose
‘formidable’ claws attach to any sturdy bench or table top. It’s an attractive design which folds
flat and comes with a bag for handy portability. Colours available
will be red, black and the new red graffiti print.
The High Pod is a nod to the current ream of sleek convertible chairs
that last from newborn to three years. Remove the tray when
your child can feed himself, yet still needs that elevation to the
family table. It will be available in red and black.
The Wriggle Wrapper is another stroke of genius. It not only keeps your
baby firmly attached to any chair you need to sit him on,
it also makes any single bed useable for sleepovers. Ditch the
cumbersome portacot in favour of the Wriggle Wrapper and it will make
going away or out to a friend’s place for dinner that much easier.
There are two new look carriers – the Pepe and the Escape. The Pepe
is a traditional front-style carrier now lined with ultra-soft pure
New Zealand merino for those delicate little newbies. The Escape is being
billed as ‘uber-lightweight and compact’ and suiting babies from
three months to kids of three years, with a choice of four colourways.
Also stay tuned for the Mini-Diddie, the scaled down version of
the popular Diddie pram and day bag. It will come in seven delish
colours and has an after-life as a laptop bag!
That’s the latest from
Phil & Teds.
We only know that the products are ‘coming soon’ so
check with your local Phil & Teds stockist about delivery dates in
your area. I had a great time exploring the new products on the
site – have a play with the hover feature and see your future purchases
in all of the colours available.
