Every now and then, a pram comes along that stands out from the crowd. A pram with the kind of sleek styling we love, but with some extra luxury features to make it something special. And when that pram is from a European brand just waiting to take off in Australia, you know it is one that you simply must take a look at.

Mutsy, a Dutch brand, have been designing prams since 1937, and their experience certainly shows with their latest pram, the Igo. Fitted out with all the mod-cons – and then some, and a 2014 winner of the Baby Innovation award, the Mutsy Igo has it all in a wow-worthy package.

Let’s start with the overall good looks, since that is what will first draw your eye to the Igo. The styling is sleek, ergonomic and customisable, with a chassis available in either black, dark grey or silver, leather look handles and bumper bar, a choice of lightweight foam tyres or shock-absorbing air filled tyres and over ten colours to choose from.

Of course, these good looks are not without substance. The Igo carry cot weighs just 3.4 kgs and sits high on the frame to enable you to easily lift your newborn in and out without straining your back. Once your bub has moved onto the reversible seat, it has soft cushioning, an adjustable leg rest and can be reclined completely flat for sleeping. Teamed with an extendable, ventilated sun canopy, you can be sure that your child will be riding in comfort as well as style. Should you and your partner be different heights, Mutsy has that covered as well, with an adjustable handlebar.

The Igo comes as a package with the chassis with leather look handle and standard basket, the carry cot, the seat with canopy and leather look bumper bar, fitted rain covers for carry cot and seat and a mosquito net. Gloriously, for such a complete luxury package, the Mutsy Igo also has a compact fold and can be folded down with or without the seat attachment. It is available in special editions including the Igo Pure (pictured top) and Igo Urban Nomad (above).
