Get adventurous with the new phil&teds voyager!

Mums are versatile, adaptable – genuine multi-taskers. It’s only natural, then, that we expect the same from the big ticket baby items we buy – like prams. The phil & teds voyager makes all these promises – so we thought we’d put it to the ultimate test. We gave three of our favourite blogger mums a voyager to put through its paces, and their reviews are in!

Known for creating supremely adaptable pram solutions for growing families, phil & teds continues to push boundaries so that parents can get out and about with all their tots. Here’s what you need to know about this adaptable pram:

  • It can be used for one baby, twins or a toddler and baby.
  • The first seat can be used four ways: lie flat, forward facing, parent facing or lying flat off the pram (as a bassinet).
  • The second seat is just as nifty. The double kit converts to lie flat mode as well, so if you have twins, both can lie flat in or off the pram.
  • The double kit converts back to an upright stroller seat once your baby or babies are old enough.
  • It packs a big punch with a compact fold.
  • Puncture-free tyres.
  • Can be used as a travel system with most leading brand car seats, and the voyager adaptors.

Mama Stylista

The fabulous Deavaunne from Mama Stylista is a mum of two who rarely sits still – so who better to grab the voyager and head out for adventures with kids in tow?

What’s known as the ‘tall seat’ is perfect for those with toddlers, and Deavaunne agrees:

“I absolutely love the tall seat. My daughter is more comfortable in it and there is so much room for growth. I love how it sits higher too, she seems more attentive to her surroundings. I just love the feel of it more than a standard pram, it seems more proportionate somehow. Also the seat is huge and soft which is a big plus.”

Anyone who has a toddler knows that packing up a pram after an outing needs to be ultra fast, to avoid meltdowns. The voyager’s compact, easy fold got a big thumbs up.

“I am using the single and it’s so easy to fold which is quite remarkable for a pram that big. Once you’ve mastered it, it literally takes seconds which is exactly what you want in a pram.”

Notable mentions too, according to Mama Stylista, are the puncture proof tyres, large sun hood, storage basket and pocket:

“I am attached to my mobile so it’s great to have it close to hand so I’m not rummaging around in my nappy bag when it rings. Also it’s a great place to put money or car keys. One of my favourite things is the parcel tray. It’s just so big! Great for shopping, snacks, towels for beach trips, change of clothes for the kids. Anything! There is never enough space on a standard pram so this is a godsend. The handbrake is powerful and I love the red for brake and green for go indicators.”

Overall, Deavaunne gave the voyager a four out of five star overall rating, complimenting its design and many bells and whistles.

“It has so many amazing features, it is easier to fold up for one thing and I love the fact that the parcel tray holds a whopping 10kg! It has a 4-in-1 adaptable seat to accommodate from newborn to kindergarten. It has a huge canopy, a large comfy seat and and a height adjustable handlebar which is great for a tall person like me. I wish I had this when my son was younger. It’s easy to manoeuvre, sturdy, good-looking and versatile. All in all a fantastic investment.”

All Mum Said

If you’re wrangling a gaggle of kids, you’ve no doubt paid a visit to All Mum Said, where Kell tells it like it is as a mum of four. She was another perfect candidate to put the voyager through its paces – from the perspective of a parent pushing two children.

She was suitably impressed with the lie flat mode, because there’s no need for any adaptors to get into baby sleeping position. Likewise, the tall seat was a winner:

“My toddler isn’t the tallest of kids but we have found in the past that the height of pram seats are compromised to make the pram more compact. I love the fact this seat is taller and she can comfortably sit and look around or sleep and remain relaxed.”

Once again those handy puncture-proof tyres were applauded, along with the handy extras.

“The sun hood is large and supplies kids with ample shade and sun protection which is a great feature to have with the warmer months about to hit. I love that it also has a zipped pocket on it that is large enough for my phone, keys and a packet of rusks/biscuits. The parcel tray is fantastic! It is so big and when you are on the move with two kids this definitely comes in handy for all the extra stuff you need to carry.”

Kell was happy to award the voyager four out of five stars overall.

MillieMummyMelbourne

Natalie from MillieMummyMelbourne is still fairly new to the two child tango. Her newest addition, the completely delicious Finn, was only born in May. But she doesn’t let that her hold back from exploring her amazing backyard, beautiful Melbourne. She packed up her new voyager and hit the city streets to give it an urban workout.

Nat was super impressed with the versatility of the voyager on a day out.

“I was able to walk to my destination while bub drifted off to sleep, then parked the pram outside and took the carrycot with me once I arrived. He wasn’t disturbed and could remain close even in places without a lot of space and I had my arms free to eat or tend to our toddler.”

Toting adorable three-year-old Millie was a cinch as well, with the tall seat that all of our reviewing mums loved.

“My daughter is a tall girl but still has room to grow in her seat. She doesn’t look too big or awkward in the pram, despite her age, yet the seat itself doesn’t appear bulky. Cosy and relaxed, she often drifted off to sleep.”

The parent-facing mode was a blessing for Natalie. She loved it for each of her children, for different reasons.

“In the early days, you are your baby’s entire world. I love that my baby can face me, helping him to feel at ease when confronted with the strange sights and sounds of the outdoors. With the toddler’s seat facing me, my daughter could chat to me and wasn’t left wondering what was happening if I was tending to the baby.”

While exploring the streets of Melbourne, Natalie found the pram was really easy to get over kerbs and on and off public transport, even fully loaded with two kids! She was super impressed with the voyager, giving it the ultimate review nod – a five out of five star rating.

“I’m really happy with this pram – being able to have both my children secure and transported in a slim buggy that doesn’t take up the entire footpath or supermarket aisle is clever. It’s easy to push, it’s modern and slick and it will adapt and grow as my children do. This pram will be used daily by our family for years to come.”

The voyager pram retails for $999, with optional bundles available.
