An uncanny photo of Jamie Oliver’s son made mum-of-5 Jools cry and we GET it
We. Can’t. Even. Handle. The. Cute. Sigh.
“The cuteness”
Jamie and Jools Oliver are parents to 16-year-old Poppy, 15-year-old Daisy, nine-year-old Petal, eight-year-old Buddy and two-year-old River.
Jools just tugged very firmly at our heartstrings by sharing a gorgeous photo of young Buddy, admitting the pic actually brought her to tears.
In the image the couple’s eight-year-old is tucked up in (his amazing) bed, engrossed in the very important work he’s set himself.
“Not sure I can take the cuteness,” Jools captioned the photo, explaining that Buddy was “recipe planning for his cooking club tomorrow very serious apparently. Sweet.”
What could be on Buddy’s recipe club list, we wonder?
Maybe it’s our favourite Oliver family vegetable and bean soup, courtesy of his mum? Perhaps it’s Jamie’s Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni? Or possibly the very delicious Baked Rice with Chicken and Chorizo a la Oliver?! #Yum!
When one fan commented, “Why does this stuff break my heart?!?” A little emotionally, Jools admitted she felt just the same.
“Mine too,” the mum-of-five responded. “I shed a tear like a weirdo.”

Jamie’s mini-me
Jools shared some other details about Buddy too … apart from his penchant for cooking up a storm.
“He is reminding me of Cory Feldman in ‘Stand By Me’ – think it’s the medallion!!!” Jools posted a little later, updating her caption, before telling followers Buddy’s bed is “covered in stickers and LEGO propped on the ledges. Drives me mad!!!”
Fans didn’t love the bed, agreed he looked like Corey AND didn’t mind about the stickers. They were more interested in the fact that Buddy’s following in his famous dad’s footsteps – and that he was a bit of a mini-me.
“It’s clearly something that’s ‘running through his veins’ @joolsoliver what a fantastic little man he is,” one posted.
“He’s the spit of Jamie!!” another commenter wrote.
“So cute. Is he ready to write a cookbook yet?” someone else posted hopefully.
Not gonna lie we’d buy a Buddy-penned recipe book in a heartbeat … and honestly? We can’t wait to see what these lovely children do with their lives when they’re all grown up – foodie or otherwise.
