While it’s been widely reported that Harry gave Meghan Princess Diana’s ring to wear to the couple’s wedding party, there was another special ring debuted on the big day too!
Sunshine, sparkles and Diana
A beaming Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, sported Diana’s giant aquamarine ring, as she climbed into the matching blue vintage Jaguar with her new husband. Royal watchers were delighted by this tribute to the late princess, yet another hat-tip by Harry to his much-loved mum. But Meghan was not the only one with a brand new sparkler.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, was spotted wearing a ring with a brilliant yellow stone on her right hand. Royal authority Hello Magazine and other media outlets suggested the ring may be a “push present” from Prince William, to celebrate the birth of the newest little prince, one-month-old Prince Louis.
Some outlets are reporting that it’s a citrine stone in the setting, the gem denoting positivity, sunshine and creativity.

Although Kate arrived with various bridal attendants, the Cambridges left for the castle reception as a family. I love this photo of them piling into their Bentley. Notice George’s shoulder is embroidered with his initials. The cutest little wedding guests
Kate is currently on maternity leave, and her wedding duties included directing the adorable Prince George and Princess Charlotte in their pageboy and bridesmaid duties on the day.
The little royals were a delight to behold, jostling with the other children chosen to attend the bride on this very big day.

George was sweet and reserved in the face of the huge crowds at Windsor Castle. Charlotte further confirmed her growing reputation as a very excellent waver, signalling to the assembled throng as she entered St George’s Chapel.
Prince Louis was not seen at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, as the palace had previously confirmed he was too little to be exposed to the crowds (and possibly further media scrutiny).
“Do you remember when mum used to say”
In a day that warmed the hearts of millions, Harry and William both paid tribute to their late mother and the newest royal, Her Royal Highness Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
At the wedding party hosted by Prince Charles, William apparently noted that Meghan was “the best thing that had ever happened to Haz” and both men mentioned their mum in their speeches.
Harry picked flowers from the private garden in Kensington Palace for Meghan’s bouquet the day before the wedding, most notably including his mother Diana’s favourite forget-me-nots amongst the blooms. The church was also decorated with white roses, another of Diana’s signature flowers.
It’s being reported that as Harry and William sat in the church, the eyes of the world watching, they spoke of their mum with William reassuring his brother “Do you remember when mum used to say …” to Harry, who smiled and said “Yeah … I know.”

Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, made a rare public appearance to give a reading at the wedding. Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer and wife Karen Villeneuve were guests, as well as Diana’s other sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale.
One of the hymns chosen for the ceremony, Guide me, O Thy Great Redeemer, was also sung at Diana’s funeral and had Harry tearing up during Saturday’s proceedings.
Chatting to the BBC last year to celebrate his engagement, Harry said Meghan and his mother would have been “best friends”. He confirmed given the chance they’d have been “thick as thieves, without question.”
