Single dad creates beautiful comic series about life with his little boy

A creative single dad from Taiwan has crafted a gorgeous comic series that perfectly captures his life with his young son.

Little moments

“I started this series right after my child was born in 2014,” Lan Shengjie aka BLUE told Bored Panda explaining that illustrating his life reminds him that the little things are often the big things. He had no idea that so many people would be touched by his work.

“When you have a kid, a lot of things happen unexpectedly. However, as I started drawing the surprising moments we shared, I didn’t think they would get such a huge positive response.”

These illustrations are a timeline of a little boy’s life, sweetly depicting everyday moments that most families will find familiar.

Sharing the load

Sharing his work to his Facebook page and website takes Lan’s work to a wider audience – and seems to help clarify how he feels about his little guy. It also provides of view of single dad life that we don’t often get to see.

“I hope that my child can grow up in a safe and healthy environment … I always try to accompany him as he’s growing up and help him when I can,” Lan told Bored Panda.
