There they are! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have sent some Christmas cheer around the world with the release of a beautiful new family portrait for Christmas.
The photo, taken for the royals by photographer Chris Jelf in October, shows the family of four looking relaxed and matching in blue and grey – with the exception of a dainty floral dress and pale pink cardigan worn by Princess Charlotte.

Princess Charlotte looks to be developing the same cheeky smile as her big brother, Prince George. A red toy train was obviously used to keep the young royals entertained during the photo shoot and Princess Charlotte’s shoe has fallen off.
The official Twitter account of Kensington Palace also shared the photo, which came with a message from the family: “A new family photo – Merry Christmas from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.”
Clearly looking a lot more grown up since last year’s Christmas photo, the royal family has also announced that Prince George will begin nursery school next year. “Prince George will begin to attend the Westacre Montessori School Nursery in Norfolk before the end of January,” they say in a statement.
The school nursery say they are looking forward to welcoming George, “where he will get the same special experience as all of our children”.
