Kate Hudson jokes she has “3,000 children” in refreshing new interview
Enormously successful actress and businesswoman Kate Hudson is refreshingly honest when it comes to the demands of her busy life, what with three children under her wing and the upcoming launch of her fashion label, HappyXNature.
Life as a mum
The sparkling star of romcom, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Kate is mum to Ryder 15 and Bingham eight, her children from previous relationships, and Rani Rose, aged ten months, who she shares with her partner, musician Danny Fujikawa.
Recently in an interview with Grazia, Kate, aged 40, spoke openly about trying to make it all work – and it seems parenting is tough, even for a glamorous actress with a knack of making people laugh.
“I wish there was a perfect balance,” she said in the interview. “The truth is, there’s not. I just take it day by day, you know?”
“I’ve got a very, very loud girl these days,” she says of the most recent addition to her family.
Looking after herself
Kate copes with her hectic life schedule by taking time out for a little self-care and reflection. “Making sure that I feel healthy, that I’m taking a tiny bit of time to make sure that I feel good, mentally and physically, really goes a long way,” she said to Grazia. “I just started to check in every day. Am I OK?”
Like anyone trying to balance career and family, it can all be a bit overwhelming but Kate seems to have kept her sense of humour. “Burning the candle at both ends, spending enough time with my, you know, 3,000 children,” she jokes. “We’re all doing the best we can, you know?”
Good support network
Kate is lucky enough to be well supported by family and has always shared a special bond with her famous mother, Goldie Hawn. In fact, the comedic actress still plays a huge role in her everyday life. “My mother is awesome,” she said in a recent interview. “She is my mother, though, so, you know, we have our moments.”
Danny, whom she started dating in 2017, is a very active parent, sharing the load of kid wrangling and helping to keep life on track.
“My man is so great and supportive and helpful,” she told Grazia. “To have someone who’s so hands-on and so available is just the most wonderful thing. We’re a great team.”
It seems life with kids is busy for everyone, even for Hollywood stars. However, it looks like Kate has found the right combination to fit it all in – life, children, career plus a new and exciting fashion label.
She manages to fit it all in – but as always, with that true unmistakable Kate Hudson style!
