With two creative parents – celebrity chef Jamie and designer mum Jools – it’s hardly surprising that this little Oliver is showing considerable artistic flair.

Proud mama

Jamie and Jools are mum and dad to a gaggle of lovely kids, sharing their home with 16-year-old Poppy, 15-year-old Daisy, nine-year-old Petal, seven-year-old Buddy and two-year-old River Rocket.

Jools took to Instagram yesterday to celebrate the pair’s middle child Poppy, uploading a photo of a beautiful painting by her daughter, perhaps captured at an end of term school art show.

The painting is a Van Gogh-inspired depiction of sunflowers in a lovely wobbly vase. It’s fair to say that Jools could not have been more proud of her daughter’s work.

Petal’s petals

Jools’ followers, it must be said, were very proud too. They left positive comments by the dozen praising Petal’s petals!

“Wow that’s beautiful. Well done lovely Petal!” one posted.

“Blooming heck. Skills Petal,” another wrote, gobsmacked.

“Prefer it to the original! Eat your heart out Vincent! Bravo Petal!” someone else enthused.

“I seriously thought you’d bought that from an art fair … and then I saw Petal’s name. Absolutely incredible! What a talent!” a follower gushed.

Old and new traditions

Earlier in the week, Jools shared some insight into her family’s Christmas traditions.

“My absolute favourite time of the year,” Jools wrote. “We have so many traditions from both myself and Jamie’s childhood, which we have loved sharing with our children, they are so important to us.”

My absolute favourite time of the year ? we have so many traditions from both myself and Jamie’s childhood, which we have loved sharing with our children, they are so important to us. We have also gained a few new ones along the way from beloved friends and some I have just stumbled across. I am really excited by this one that I found by chance. The Giving Manger – from the beginning of December, each day you have to complete an act of kindness for someone else no matter how big or small, then you can place a piece of straw in to the manger and hopefully by Christmas Eve the little manger will be full of straw and you can place baby Jesus in there. Honestly the children were so excited to start and so far we have racked up a few straws each. I love hearing what they have done, be it at school or home and asking me if it deserves a straw…so sweet. Being kind is THE only thing that matters and we hope they carry this tradition through to their little families too. ?for anyone asking I got mine off the internet from America but to be honest it’s such a beautiful simple idea you could just make one up yourself ❤️

But she said she’s also on the lookout for fun and meaningful new traditions for her brood, and one, in particular, fits the bill on both counts.

“We have also gained a few new ones along the way from beloved friends and some I have just stumbled across,” Jools said explaining that The Giving Manger is one of them.

It is so sweet, isn’t it? A lot like this cute fam!
