I can’t remember my parents ever telling me about the birds and the bees (or if they did, it has well and truly been wiped from my memory). But with my four-year-old daughter already starting to ask probing questions about where babies come from, I know that sooner or later I’ll be having “the talk” with my daughters. Question is, who will be more uncomfortable: me or them?
If this hilarious video is anything to go by, it’s highly likely to be awkward all round. The video, produced by cut.com, shows parents talking to their kids about how babies are made and born. From whiteboard diagrams and odd metaphors to kids blocking ears when the penny drops, some of the explanations and reactions are just priceless.
My favourite is the boy who already knows a little too much courtesy of his big brother. Which just tells me that no matter how uncomfortable a conversation, I’d best not leave it too long with my daughters!
Have you talked to your children about where babies come from? How old were they?
