“Have a baby,” they said. “It’ll be fun,” they said. And it was. It was also bone-achingly tiring and brain-frazzlingly tricky. And sometimes you lost a little bit of your former self!

Toddlers strike again!

The Got Toddlered Instagram account is a tribute to this “new you” transformation. Writer and dad-of-two Mike Julianelle blogs at Dad and Buried, and he’s also the genius curator of Got Toddlered, an Instagram account about life after kids. His Got Toddlered feed is jam-packed with toddler destruction, memes and images of people and things kids have wrecked. It’s hilarious and relatable chortle fodder.

“Kids are the worst best thing that’s ever happened to us and if we don’t laugh about the havoc they wreak we’d have to cry instead and I’m not a crier,” Mike told the Huffington Post.

Chaos achievement unlocked!

Mike is dad to a 7-year-old and a 1-year-old, and he says these pics are funny because they’re true. They’ve been shared in solidarity, as a sort of strung-out celebration of kids and the chaos they can bring.

“Obviously, it’s meant to be lighthearted, and no one is seriously blaming their children for the state of their faces or lives,” Mike said.

We have to say we totally get where Mike’s coming from. Not only are sleep, funds, date nights and effortless beauty often drastically diminished when small children enter our lives, our homes and cars and possibly our pets will possibly never be the same again.

Mike’s callout for Got Toddlered type images sparked an avalanche of funny photos flooding his inbox. Here are just a cheeky few of our favourites.

Sometimes it was humans that the children chose to wreak havoc on …

1. Transformation activated!

2. “No shame here, we’re all equally screwed!”

3. “From glamorous to grumpy”

4. “Condolences all ’round”

And sometimes it was previously enjoyable experiences that got the toddler treatment

5. RIP nice naps

6. Ho, ho, no

7. Flour power
