America Ferrera hilariously explores glittery lady bits at her baby shower

America Ferrera

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star America Ferrera is expecting her first baby. Luckily, one of her co-stars from that much-loved film was on hand at her recent (second!) baby shower, helping get things prepped for the impending birth.

Glittery and fluffy

Childbirth, eh? Not only is it one of the most transformative experiences of a woman’s life – it’s often the most painful. Thankfully, actor America Ferrera has some devoted buddies keen to coach her through this defining moment. They’ve started early, in fact, mobilising America’s Baby Shower and turning it into a very glittery, quite fluffy pre-birth workshop.

An amused America – who married actor/director Ryan Piers Williams in 2011 – took to Instagram to share what unfolded at the event and honestly, it’s a gift to us all. She uploaded a shot of herself and bestie Samantha Nye in birth-prep action, heads emerging from what can only be referred to as a Giant Demonstration Vagina.

“Baby Showers are for Practicing,” America wrote alongside the Demo Vagina pic.

“So insanely grateful for the village of women I have in my life who have shown up to love, support and celebrate (all of me) in style as I transition into motherhood. Boundless gratitude to my boos @todaytamara & @amberrosetamblyn for planning a magical and powerful celebration. And to @samlooksatthis for the gorgeous vagina.”

America and Ryan announced their incoming baby in January, although it’s not clear exactly when their poppet is due.

Sisterhood Round 3

Meanwhile, every 90’s teen’s dream of a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reboot is looking much closer to being realised. There’s apparently a script floating around, and the original cast have confirmed they’re on board with a third instalment.

“We just pitched a third movie and I hope it comes together. It would be so great,” OG Traveling Pants star Alexis Bledel told Jimmy Fallon recently.

“The sisterhood is still well and alive. I love my girls. We’re very much a part of each other’s lives and if the movie happens it would be a great thing,” America told E! News last year.

Blake Lively thinks this much hoped-for film is closer than we might imagine. “I think it could really happen. I think that people who love the movie want to see it. So, I mean, fans have gotten bigger movies made,” she told ET Online.

Cross. Your. Fingers, film fans!
