Wine-infused gummy bears are a thing and people are drunk with excitement over them

Say hello to the only candy with its own wait list. And rightfully so. Because when a candy company combines gummy bears with wine, well, they are bound to a hit.

What’s better than a rush of sugar? How about a rush of alcoholic-flavoured sugar shaped like itsy bitsy adorable bears?

It’s this exact concept that the world is eating up. In fact, there is a 14,000 person wait list for the coveted champagne candy.

California candy company Sugarfina hit the marketing gold mine with their Rose All Day Bears, rosé wine-infused gummy bears which are (apparently) a tasty blend of fruity and tangy. Made especially popular for wedding, hen’s parties and special events, it would appear everyone wants a taste.

The company also have champagne-infused bears and wine-infused gummy roses which are equally as tasty, popular and sold out.

Apart from the fact that you have to wait behind 14,000 other people to get your own box of gummy bears or roses, there is even worse news – even though the bears are made of wine, don’t expect to get a buzz. All alcohol is burned off during the cooking process, so, although they taste like rosé wine, they won’t give you the tipsiness. Or the headache.

But, hey, never fear! Where there is a will, there is a way and we see nothing wrong with making your own wine-soaked gummy bears the old fashioned way by simply soaking gummy bears into wine before hiding in the pantry away from the children and consuming.

Or perhaps that’s just me.
