What a Lovely Name – pretty and personalised

Ooh this site is such a charming treat for a jaded old name nut looking
for new fodder, despite no babies in the wings. I’ve done the
rounds on the names forums and explored every nook and cranny of sites
like
Nameberry,
Nymbler and
The Baby Name Wizard, all of which featured here across two articles
last October.

What a Lovely Name
takes a multi-pronged approach to naming, starting with
a page of desirable dispositions parents often want their children to
express. When I choose ‘elegant, quirky and strong’ it narrows
down all the names in its database to Rurik. More than being totally
accurate, it’s just one big load of
fun. You can also research names based on the countries they’re from,
celebrity baby names, as well as names from other worlds such
as Star Trek and Narnia. Inventive that’s for sure!

Perhaps the very best thing about this site is that you can order
lovely gear with names printed on it. The logos are just stunning, with
my two favourites there below. You can buy onesies, mugs, mousepads,
stcikers, baby bag, keychains, magnets, business cards, notecards,
and even a stein! If you’re ordering a tee for your little one, you may
as well go and order your own personalised stein while you’re at
it as I’m not sure this would make a great present for a child.

What a Lovely Name ships worldwide with prices starting at US$2.95 for a
notecard and up to $25.95 for 100 baby business cards for announcements. Have fun browsing the lovely logos and see them on the
products before you buy.
