Welcome to the world’s “most dangerous” amusement park

Is danger your middle name? Do you like your thrills with spills? Welcome to the place once dubbed the world’s “most dangerous” amusement park. Closed for two decades,  Action Park Mountain Creek recently reopened in a much safer form.

Like much from the 70s, 80s and 90s, many of the things that happened at this New Jersey amusement park have now become the stuff of legend.

The park recently reopened under its original owners and name, with a multitude of new safety features and procedures aimed at restoring the fun with the same adrenalin rush, but none of the danger.

Action Park Mountain Creek holds plenty of nostalgia for those who frequented it in its previous guise, and apparently it’s received a warm welcome back into the amusement park arena. The new safety changes include the use of face masks on certain rides to protect people from collisions.

The new park features the Zero G, a million dollar water slide which has been dubbed the world’s tallest double-looping water slide.

Apart from the stomach-flipping rides, there also appears to be many family-friendly options within the park, like the Soaring Eagle (above). The park has released a series of vintage videos, which give a glimpse into what it was like back in its earlier days.

Tell us what you think, did you ever visit this iconic American amusement park in its earlier days, and would you visit it now?
