When we trudge into our toddler’s bedroom for the seventh time that evening and moan out loud “why, oh why won’t you sleep?”, it would be nice if they could actually tell us what it is preventing them from closing those sleepy little eyelids. So when dad La Guardia Cross conducted an interview with his toddler daughter, it threw up some very funny – and not so surprising – results.
The YouTube video has gone viral with “walking, talking, clapping and dancing” 14-month-old Amalah seemingly answering her father’s tough questions. The cleverly edited clips have the little girl telling her dad exactly why she doesn’t contribute to the household budget or sleep through the night.
There’s an intelligence test, a curveball question and the cute-as-a button tot passes with flying colours.
“The very first interview I did with Amalah was at six weeks old. She’s a one-year-old now, 14 months to be exact. I had burning questions that needed to be answered,” Cross says, who has a series of videos he calls the New Father Chronicles. “She’s not an infant anymore but I still have a whole lot to learn.”
