So fetch! This adorable mum kept her spirits up – and her labour moving along nicely – by busting out a full dance routine in the birthing suite, sister-in-law by her side!
Not only is this mum keeping it real in her undies and pad, her awesome dance routine helped her to avoid pain relief and have a really positive birth experience.
The mama’s doula shared this adorable dancing through labour clip on her Birthing in Love Facebook page and, judging by the 9 million PLUS views, most people are totally into a bit of ‘Wobble‘ as you birth!
A quick scout through the comments revealed that this mama’s own mother has weighed in on the video, explaining her daughter’s experience of and attitude to labour was pretty unique.
“I was shocked at how well her entire labor went. My daughter never cried, or yelled out (unlike me when I was in labor with her). My daughter had index cards with positive saying on them, and when she had a hard contraction, we would hold the card in her face and she would read it for encouragement.”
*EDITED TO ADD* Thank you everyone for your positive comments! With so many comments, we just cannot keep up with them. So please, use common decency and only make positive comments. My last client of 2016 dancing her baby down through contractions at 6 cm dilated! As these questions have been asked many times, we're going t address them here: She's wearing the mesh underwear and pad because her water had broken and was leaking. She did not have pain medication for her birth. The woman dancing with her is her sister-in-law, not a nurse. The monitor on her belly is the Novii wireless fetal monitor from Monica Healthcare. It is a waterproof and wireless contraction and heart rate monitor.

“Hire a doula!”
She wholeheartedly recommended enlisting a doula as a birth-support person, too.
“Im telling you, she just did an amazing job bringing her baby in this world. None of the 3 kids I had was near this pleasant. Im serious when I say, people should hire a doula!”
“This doula massaged my daughter’s back with certain oil for relaxation, explained things to my daughter about what was happening to her or going to happen to her, video taped the events (as the whole world can see), dealt with the nurses, just very helpful all around.”
“Dancing her baby down”
When the video was posted, lots of people had… opinions. Of course! Not all of them were nice.
Some commenters on the post were sceptical about whether the woman was really 6cm dilated and whether she was in pain. They also assumed she was on serious pain relief. Some thought she should not be wearing a nappy/pad. Others firmly stated that the video should not even be shared.
Unperturbed, the (diplomatic in the face of snark) doula clarified a few details about this hip-swinging birth.

She also said that this labouring mama was super happy to be in her undies, had no issue with being filmed and gave permission for the clip to be shared publicly on Facebook too.
Luckily lots of people were inspired and entertained by this cute video too:
“I love this. And the fact that her sister in law is dancing with her makes it the much more,” one follower posted.
“This is awesome. This sure is a lot better then laying in that bed waiting, keeping her mind on something else until that sweet child’s arrives. You go girl,” another woman wrote.
“Good for her, that’s a beautiful moment and a great way to bring baby into this world…..on a happy dancing note!”
We could not agree more!
