It’s Nha Trang’s answer to Disneyland. Prepare for luxury family amusement park fun at Vinpearl Resort.
Located on the beach at Nha Trang, on Vinh Nguyen Island, Vietnam, Vin Pearl Resort offers five-star accommodation, a six thousand square metre water park, an amusement park, an aquarium, shopping mall and a ‘food village’ set up in a hawker’s style market. As you’ve probably gathered, it’s a place for family holidays, as opposed to romantic getaways.
Guests at Vin Pearl have access to a private beach and the largest outdoor swimming pool in Southeast Asia – a massive five thousand, seven hundred metres squared of swimming fun awaits (and that doesn’t include the water amusement park!). Naturally, there’s also all the trimmings you’d expect at a luxury beach resort – a day spa, a massive list of water sports from parasailing to banana boat rides and numerous restaurants and bars.
But really, enough about that because Vinpearl Land is the main event for families. Designed as an independent amusement park, yet harmoniously linked with the resort, Vinpearl Land is enormous and kids are unlikely to exhaust this unique attraction. Comprising a water park with numerous slides and the biggest wave pool in Southeast Asia, Underwater World and traditional amusement park rides and arcade style games, Vinpearl Land is fun for all ages.
The water park is helpfully divided into three zones for kids, families and ‘thrill-seekers’. As well as pools, water play, small slides and fountains for little kids there is a good range of rides. Start with a gentle float down the Lazy River on an inner tube (the canal circles the entire park) and either enjoy the sights or use it as a way to hop from one attraction to the next.
Take time to enjoy the Wave Pool. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas nearby and with waves programmed from small to stormy seas, it’s good fun for kids. Adjacent to the Wave Pool is the toddlers pool with plenty of water experiences for even the youngest visitor.
If you want white-knuckled thrills, check out the Tsunami Terror Ride. Essentially a half-pipe water slide, it’s a quick but exhilarating ride (the amateur video clip below shows how it works).
If that’s not thrilling enough, there’s also the Space Hole Ride (which includes a water slide with a nineteen metre drop so that you feel as if you are travelling at the speed of light – eek!), the Kamikaze which will have you feeling as if you are about to fly off the slide (eek!) and the Free Fall, where you’ll travel sixty kilometres per hour from a height of twenty-one metres on an inner tube (eek!).
When you’re done with the water park, there are dozens of other rides to enjoy from a stunning (and tame) merry-go-round to an ‘extreme’ carousel, a rollercoaster, stage shows, a 4D theatre and arcade games. Then there’s Underwater World, an aquarium housing nearly three hundred species including sharks, turtles and giant Mekong catfish, viewed from a moving walkway that transports you through the aquarium tunnels. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot a mermaid – really!
